Resource State Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR), Adult Protective Services

Alabama Adult Protective Services (APS)

State program that investigates and responds to reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults age 18 and older who are unable to protect themselves. Reports can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to the statewide Adult Abuse Hotline at 1-800-458-7214, or to a county DHR office, sheriff, or chief of police. Anonymous reports are accepted.

Vulnerable and older adults at risk of abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation, and anyone who suspects an adult is being harmed.
