Arkansas Crime Victims Reparations Program
The Crime Victims Reparations program provides financial help to innocent victims of violent crime and certain family members for crime-related costs they cannot otherwise pay. Covered expenses can include medical and dental care, mental health counseling, lost wages, funeral expenses, crime scene cleanup, and loss of support for dependents of deceased victims, and a sexual assault reimbursement option helps cover evidence collection and related medical or legal exams. Awards are generally capped at $10,000, with up to $25,000 for victims with catastrophic injuries. Compensation can be paid regardless of whether there has been an arrest or conviction.

Innocent victims of violent crime in Arkansas, including survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and qualifying family members; people whose own conduct contributed to the crime, those with disqualifying felony convictions, and offenders are not eligible.

How to apply
- Report the crime to law enforcement, generally within 72 hours of the incident (this timing requirement does not apply to minors and may be waived for good cause).
- Get a claim form from the nearest prosecuting attorney's office, a law enforcement agency, a hospital, or the Arkansas Crime Victims Reparations Program.
- Complete the application with supporting documentation for your crime-related expenses.
- Submit the application to the Crime Victims Reparations Board; for help, call 501-682-1020.
Deadline: The crime must generally be reported to authorities within 72 hours (minors excluded, and the requirement may be waived for good cause), and the application must generally be filed within one year of the incident. (Fixed deadline)
