The statewide 24-hour hotline for reporting suspected child abuse or neglect in Illinois. Call 1-800-25-ABUSE (1-800-252-2873) to make a report; an online reporting system is also available for non-emergencies. State law protects the confidentiality of reporters and shields good-faith reports from civil liability. Mandated reporters who work with children must report when they have reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect.
