Oklahoma Crime Victims Compensation Program
The Crime Victims Compensation Program helps innocent victims of violent crime, and certain family members, with crime-related costs they cannot otherwise pay. Covered expenses can include medical and dental care, mental health counseling, lost wages, loss of support for dependents, funeral costs, crime scene cleanup, and traditional American Indian healing services. Pain and suffering and lost or damaged personal property are not covered.

Innocent victims of violent crime in Oklahoma, including survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and qualifying family members or dependents of homicide victims.

How to apply
- Report the crime to law enforcement and cooperate with the investigation and prosecution.
- Complete a Crime Victims Compensation claim form and mail it to the Crime Victims Compensation Board.
- The claim is forwarded to your local District Attorney's Victim-Witness Coordinator, who helps gather documentation.
- A local victim advocate or Victim-Witness Coordinator can help you complete the application for free.

Deadline: File the claim within one year of the crime-related injury. This may be extended to two years for good cause, and beyond two years only in child sexual assault cases. (Fixed deadline)
Amount: Varies by expense type, with caps such as up to $3,000 for counseling, up to $7,500 for funeral expenses, and up to $2,000 for crime scene cleanup.
