Oregon Crime Victims' Compensation Program
State program that helps victims of violent crime, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse, pay for crime-related costs such as medical and mental health counseling expenses, lost wages, funeral expenses, rehabilitation, and transportation to medical care. The program does not reimburse stolen or damaged property.

How to apply
- Work with a victim advocate at a county victim assistance program or a local community-based victim services agency, which is strongly recommended for completing the application.
- Apply online through the Oregon DOJ Crime Victims' Compensation (CVC) portal, or complete and sign the paper application available in English or Spanish.
- Submit the paper application by secure email to CVSSD@doj.oregon.gov or by mail to the Crime Victim and Survivor Services Division in Salem.
- Most applicants are notified in writing within about 70 days of the program receiving the application.
Deadline: Apply within 12 months of the crime. This deadline may be waived for good cause as determined by the program. (Fixed deadline)
Amount: Benefit limits include up to $20,000 for medical and counseling expenses, up to $600 per week for lost earnings (up to $20,000), up to $5,000 for funeral expenses, up to $4,000 for rehabilitation, and up to $3,000 for transportation to crime-related medical care.
