Utah Crime Victim Reparations (Reparations)
Utah's crime victim compensation program. It can reimburse victims for certain out-of-pocket costs from a violent crime, including medical bills, counseling expenses, lost wages, and burial and funeral costs. Reparations is generally a payer of last resort, after insurance and other sources. The program can consider crimes that occurred on or after January 1, 1987.
Who it is for
Victims who suffered physical or psychological injury, or families of someone killed, as a direct result of a crime in Utah, including domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and trafficking, who have expenses not covered by other sources.

How to apply
- Report the crime to a law enforcement agency. No conviction is required, but enough information is needed to show a crime occurred.
- Complete the reparations application online at the official claim site, or download and mail the signed form.
- Include bills or receipts for your crime-related costs.
- Mail forms, if not applying online, to the Utah Office for Victims of Crime, 350 East 500 South, Suite 200, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111.
- Call a victim advocate at 801-238-2360 or 1-800-621-7444 with questions.
