Vermont Victims Compensation Program
State program that offers limited financial assistance to victims of crime for losses caused directly by the crime and not covered by insurance or other sources. Covered costs can include medical and dental care, counseling for victims and family members, funeral expenses, lost wages, and other crime-related expenses. The program provides up to $10,000 per eligible claim and is administered by the Vermont Center for Crime Victim Services, funded in part through the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA).

People who suffered a financial loss as the direct result of a crime that occurred in Vermont, including victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and certain family members.
