Washington Address Confidentiality Program (WA ACP)
A free program that gives eligible survivors a substitute mailing address and first-class mail forwarding so their real address stays out of public records. Washington created the nation's first Address Confidentiality Program in 1991. State, county, and city agencies accept the substitute address instead of a residential address, and the program also protects voting and marriage records.
Who it is for
Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and trafficking, along with certain criminal justice employees, election officials, and protected health care workers who are targets of threats or harassment. Applications are typically completed with help from a trained Application Assistant at a local program.
